About the Role

Hello, RNs! Ampersand Therapy is seeking a Private Duty School Nurse (PDN) to provide 1:1 nursing support for a student with medical needs in a school setting in Aurora, CO. In this role, you’ll provide individualized medical care throughout the school day, supporting the student’s health and well-being while helping them safely access their education. You’ll also assist with the student’s transportation to and from school as part of their care.

This is an excellent opportunity for nurses interested in pediatrics, school-based care, or providing consistent, student-centered support. You’ll work closely with the student, family, and school team to ensure their medical needs are supported throughout the school day and during transportation.

What You’ll Do

• Provide 1:1 nursing support for a student with medical needs throughout the school day

• Assist with transportation for student

• Monitor and manage chronic medical conditions and student health needs

• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and care plans

• Respond to health concerns and emergencies while following school safety protocols

• Maintain accurate health documentation and ensure compliance with medical plans

• Collaborate closely with families, school staff, related service providers, and medical teams

• Support student participation, safety, and access within the educational environment

• Participate in IEP and 504 meetings as appropriate
   

What We’re Looking For

• Active Colorado State RN license

• School Nursing CDE endorsement (or willingness to obtain) preferred

• Ability to pass fingerprinting and background check

• Pediatric, school nursing, or medically complex care experience preferred. 

• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and compassion
