What You Will Be Doing 


As a School Night Cleaner you help maintain a clean, safe, and well-kept facility by handling daily janitorial tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, restroom cleaning, and trash removal. You safely operate cleaning equipment, respond to spills, and ensure areas are properly secured after hours. You manage your time effectively while working independently and keep supplies stocked for ongoing operations. You also communicate any repair needs to your supervisor to support the overall upkeep of the building.


School Night Cleaner Duties and Responsibilities

  • General cleaning of the building and keeping it maintained and in good condition.
  • Safely operate cleaning equipment, including a backpack vacuum. 
  • Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
  • Cleaning and stock restrooms.
  • Ensure doors are locked after hours.
  • Clean up spills with appropriate equipment.
  • Notify supervisors or managers of major repairs.
  • Collect and dispose of trash.
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
  • Keep cleaning supplies in stock.
  • Work with a contract cleaning service when necessary.

School Night Cleaner Qualifications and Requirements

  • Handle basic cleaning tasks and other janitorial work.
  • Able to use basic cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to manage your time efficiently.
  • Work well when supervisors are not present.
  • Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies.
  • Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. –  We Use E-Verify

  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time. 
  • Bend, kneel, crouch, and as required by job.
