Summary

The Server plays a vital role in providing outstanding dining experiences for residents and guests of Heather Gardens. This position is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring prompt and accurate food and beverage delivery, and maintaining a clean, welcoming, and efficient dining environment. The Server works closely with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth restaurant operations and guest satisfaction.

 Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Greet and seat diners courteously and efficiently.
  2. Present menus, take food and beverage orders accurately, and relay them promptly to kitchen and bar staff.
  3. Ensure timely delivery of orders and verify accuracy before serving.
  4. Maintain knowledge of menu items, daily specials, and beverage selections to provide informed recommendations.
  5. Monitor tables throughout service to anticipate guest needs and ensure satisfaction.
  6. Clear and reset tables promptly between seatings.
  7. Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, side stations, and service areas.
  8. Assist with preparation and setup for special events and large groups.
  9. Follow all health, sanitation, and safety standards in accordance with state and local regulations.
  10. Support team members and perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum age 18.
  • Prior experience in a restaurant or food service environment preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a polite and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
  • Must successfully pass background and drug screening.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional coursework in hospitality or food service preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of POS systems and basic cash handling procedures.
  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining composure and attention to detail.
  • Stamina to stand or walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
