VCA Aurora Animal Hospital is growing our Primary Care Service (General Practice) and seeking aVeterinary Technician to join ourteam!
Overall Responsibility: The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:
- Venipuncture, IV catheter placements, and laboratory/diagnostic duties
- Physical examinations and patient assessment
- Surgical preparation and assisting in surgery
- Maintaining proper sterile conditions
- Anesthesia monitoring for soft tissue procedures and dentals
- Dentistry and dental radiographs
- Maintain patient records and complete estimates, and basic record keeping.
- Assisting with postoperative care of the patient
- Pharmacy
- Laser therapy
- Discharge instructions with clients
- Work with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients receive the best possible care and communicate frequently with the team.
Compensation: $ 22 - 28/hr
Starting range is determined by license, skill set, and years of experience in the field.
Schedule: Full-time opportunity, 4 x 10-hour shifts with rotating Satrudays.
Requirements:
- 3+ years experience as a Veterinary Technician
- Anesthesia experience, 2+ years experience required
- Experience with soft tissue and dental procedures with canines and felines
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Time management skill
