The role:

We are seeking an experienced and forward‑thinkingĀ Manager of Materials Quality EngineeringĀ (MQE)Ā to lead the development of robust quality programs that embed a prevention‑focused culture across our raw material ecosystem. This role is central to shaping the systems, standards, and methodologies that ensure consistent, predictable material performance for our advanced CMP product portfolio. By driving structured quality frameworks and inspiring a proactive mindset, this leader will help elevate quality maturity across the Materials Solutions Division.Ā 

The MQE Manager will provide people leadership, technical direction, and strategic oversight forĀ aĀ U.S.-based team while partnering closely with global MQE groups in Taiwan, Korea, andĀ Japan. This individual will enable strong execution of quality excellence programs, drive continuous improvement, strengthen customer and supplier relationships, and ensure alignment betweenĀ customer needs,Ā raw material quality strategies and business growth priorities.Ā 

What you'll do:

People Leadership & Talent DevelopmentĀ 

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Materials Quality EngineersĀ specializing in Business OperationsĀ and ProgramĀ Management.Ā 

  • Manage and support employees across multiple time zones, ensuring inclusive communication, balanced workload distribution, and effective collaboration with global partners.Ā 

  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning.Ā 

  • Build technical capability through structured training and mentorshipĀ both within team and across the global MQE organization.Ā 

  • Promote collaboration, clear communication,Ā andĀ trust.Ā 

Strategic, Technical & Business LeadershipĀ 

  • Set the strategic direction for preventionfocused quality engineering, ensuring alignment with global MQE and Materials Solutions Division priorities.Ā 

  • Engage and influence crossfunctional teams, global MQE partners,Ā andĀ suppliers,Ā to build alignment, encourage shared ownership, and support thoughtful decisionmaking.Ā 

  • Communicate clearly and respectfully, translating complex technical or program information into concise, actionable insights tailored to engineers, leadership, suppliers, and customers.Ā 

  • Provide supportive technical guidance on failure analysis, rootcause investigations, SPC maturity, risk mitigation, and rawmaterial performance to help the team build stronger technical foundations.Ā 

  • Nurture strong working relationships across R&D, Operations, Sourcing, Product Management, Customer Quality, and global MQE teams to promote collaboration, transparency, and trust.Ā 

  • Coach and mentor the team to develop polished, effective communication—ensuring OCAPs, 8Ds, dashboards, and technical reports are clear, accurate, and aligned with expectations.Ā 

  • Apply balanced judgment in complex or fastmoving situations, weighing customer needs, supplier capabilities, and business priorities to arrive at thoughtful, wellsupported decisions.Ā 

  • Represent MQE in a steady, credible, andĀ solutionsoriented way during audits, escalations, supplier discussions, and crossfunctionalĀ reviews—helpingĀ ensure a consistent and collaborative voice.Ā 

Program Management & Execution ExcellenceĀ 

  • Oversee quality improvement andĀ voice ofĀ customerĀ qualityĀ programs.Ā 

  • Ensure timely reporting of program status, risks, and deliverables.Ā 

  • Deploy best‑practice program management frameworks.Ā 

Customer & Supplier EngagementĀ 

  • Serve as escalation point for customer investigations, excursions, and audits.Ā 

  • Support preparation of technical reports, OCAPs, 8Ds, and presentations.Ā 

  • Oversee supplier quality engagements and corrective actions.Ā 

Operational Excellence & Quality SystemsĀ 

  • Ensure compliance with global quality policies, change control, and SPC expectations.Ā 

  • Maintain zero‑overdueĀ CAR, OFIs, OCAPs, or CRs.Ā 

  • Monitor OOC%, QN/NCMR cycle time, SPC maturity,Ā EQOS,Ā andĀ issue investigation timeliness.Ā 

What we seek:Ā 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field;Ā Master’sĀ or PhDĀ preferred.Ā 

  • 7+ years industry experience; 3+Ā years peopleĀ leadershipĀ required.Ā 

  • Experience managing employeesĀ remotelyĀ preferred.Ā 

  • Strong understanding of SPC, FMEA, materials characterization.Ā Six Sigma Black Belt desired.Ā 

  • Proficiency with Minitab, JMP, SAS, Power BI, Microsoft Office.Ā 

Travel: 10%Ā
