The Program Coordinator of medical student education assists in the planning, implementation and evaluation of medical student activities. The coordinator additionally serves as a liaison between the educational leaders in the department and various schools.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Healthcare, Administration, or related field

OR High School Diploma or Equivalent AND Four (4) years of administrative assistant experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE:
1. Three (3) years office administration with scheduling responsibilities.
2. Two (2) years residency or medical education office experience.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position.  They are not intended to be constructed as an all-inclusive list of all responsibilities and duties.  Other duties may be assigned.

1. Cultivates relationships with academic partners with the intent of introducing them to pipeline programs and/or opportunities for their students. Serves as the primary contact to schools for scheduling medical student rotations.
2. Serves as the front-line contact with individual students and faculty across the academic footprint.
3. Assists with the development, maintenance, and revision of school contracts in collaboration with school administrators, hospital administration, and legal.
4. Ensures all minimum requirements are met for students and faculty. Assists with registration and follow ups with students.
5. Organizes student rotations, prepares files, evaluations, and student orientation packets.
6. Provide curriculum support to the program by maintaining current documentation, maintaining site relationships, and work with leadership to track and support resident rotations and elective planning.
7. Actively participates in the marketing and recruitment process while representing the institution in a professional and positive fashion.  Develops, maintains, and revises student education campaigns.
8. Maintains continuous and open communication with department personnel, clinical instructors, and students with respect to changes and updates in programmatic administration, and/or instructional policies and procedures.
9. Directs students and faculty with special concerns to the respective support agencies provided by the institution or external organizations.
10. Provides administrative support and participates in departmental and organizational meetings, task forces, projects, and committees, as directed, to contribute to the attainment of established goals and objectives.
11. Coordinates department visiting professor/instructor lectureships in accordance to ACCME standards. Creates visiting professor itinerary, orders posters and flyers for event.
