DESCRIPTION:
Join our collaborative team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Facilities Coordinator I, where you'll contribute to maintaining and optimizing our facilities. In this position, you'll ensure smooth daily operations while supporting our mission to enable customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. You'll manage facility services, coordinate with vendors, and respond to various facility-related needs, creating an effective work environment for our teams.

In this role, you'll handle reception duties, manage building access systems, coordinate maintenance activities, and ensure all facility services run efficiently. You'll be responsible for managing supply inventories, processing work orders, and coordinating with contractors to maintain our facilities. This role offers the opportunity to make meaningful contributions while working with inclusive teams in a professional environment.
Qualifications: 
Education and Experience: 
High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent preferred and relevant formal academic / vocational 
qualification
Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0 
to 1 year).
In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training 
and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the 
requirements of the role
REQUIREMENTS:
• No prior experience required
• Technical certificates may be required for specific positions
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facility management systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Experience coordinating with vendors and contractors
• Ability to maintain accurate electronic and paper records
• Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) preferred
• Physical ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
• Strong customer service orientation and professional demeanor
• Willingness to respond to facility-related emergencies
• May require participation in on-call rotation
• Ability to work in various environments including office, laboratory, or clinical settings
• Valid driver's license may be required
