POSITION SUMMARY:  To help Wheatsville in its mission to be the Friendliest Store in Town through excellent internal and external customer service.  Prepare attractive dishes for a natural foods deli; keeping all cases and products stocked.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Prepare consistent and high-quality food items according to standards and recipes

·         Maintain a high level of production in order to keep deli cases stocked and abundant

·         Maintain a clean and orderly workspace throughout shift

·         Use proper storage, cooling and labeling procedures

• Ensure that unsellable items are properly reported and disposed of
• Taste and evaluate product for quality and consistency

·         Maintain kitchen and food storage areas in sanitary, orderly condition meeting Health Department standards

·         Comply with Health Department regulations including head covering, proper dress, drinks and hand washing

• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of customer facing areas when needed
• Participate in quarterly inventory
• Other tasks as assigned by management

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Ability to follow recipes
• Ability to work with others in close quarters effectively
• Ability to project an outgoing, friendly, helpful personality
• Good communication, receptive to feedback
• Ability to handle & prioritize multiple demands with organization and attention to detail
• Food Handler’s Certification required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

• Required frequently: standing for long periods of time, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs. and environmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, ovens, freezers etc.)
