An Art Director + Content Creator at Door No. 3 sits at the intersection of concept, craft, and culture. This role blends motion design, content creation, and art direction into one high-impact position.

You are not just executing assets. You are shaping how ideas move.

You’ll lead the creation of motion graphics, video, and social content for our clients across healthcare, mobility, education, government, and mission-driven brands. You’ll concept, shoot, design, animate, edit, and produce work that performs in the real world. Not just in a portfolio.

This is a leadership-through-craft role for someone who can think strategically, execute at a high level, and bring scalable content systems to life.

You’ll report to the Executive Creative Director and collaborate closely with Art Directors, Designers, Media, and Account teams.

We are a lean, senior team with a high bar. We’re looking for someone who is a doer and a team player, who can flex between a variety of tasks, from owning and elevating content creation to developing client-ready decks to assisting art directors with re-sizes and versioning.


Key Responsibilities

This role has a direct impact on both client work and Door No. 3’s brand presence.

Motion, Video & Social Content

  • Lead creation of motion graphics, animated assets, and short-form video
  • Concept, shoot, and edit original photography and video content
  • Design and produce social posts, reels, stories, and performance-driven creative
  • Develop scalable content systems across platforms and campaigns
  • Create motion toolkits that allow ideas to flex across media

Content Creation

  • Shoot on-location and in-studio content
  • Source stock photographer and video when needed
  • Create infographics and visual storytelling assets
  • Bring new ideas for how our clients show up socially and culturally
  • Act as a creative partner in client-facing conversations

Production Design & Versioning

  • Support Art Directors by executing resizes, cutdowns, and multiple versions
  • Adapt creative across specs, placements, and media channels
  • Prepare assets for launch across paid, owned, and organic platforms

Door No. 3 Brand

  • Lead execution of DN3’s internal brand and marketing content
  • Bring our positioning to life through motion and storytelling
  • Maintain a consistently high creative bar internally and externally


Skills Required:

You should be fluent in:

  • Adobe Creative Cloud
    • After Effects
    • Premiere Pro
    • Photoshop
    • Illustrator
    • InDesign
    • Adobe Express
  • Google Workspace

The ideal candidate is comfortable using AI creative tools (Midjourney, Runway, Google AI tools, etc.) to accelerate workflows without sacrificing craft.

It will be considered a plus if you are familiar with Hubspot, particularly managing websites and marketing via the platform.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in motion, content, or design (agency preferred)
  • Portfolio demonstrating motion, video, and social-first work
  • Experience building content across multiple brands
  • Comfortable balancing speed, iteration, and high standards
  • Must live in Austin. While this is a remote role, we are Austin-based with local production happening frequently.


Compensation

This is a contract-to-hire role. Compensation for contract duration will be hourly and reflect work performed. If hired as a full time employee, which will be determined based on performance within contract, the below salary and benefits package would apply.

Expected starting pay range is $72,000–$88,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Door No. 3 offers a competitive benefits package, including:

Clients

We work with organizations across healthcare, mobility, education, government, and mission-driven consumer brands. Our clients include one of the largest not-for-profit healthcare systems in Texas, state agencies, national brands, and public-purpose organizations across the U.S. Most collaboration happens via Zoom, with periodic in-person meetings in Austin.


Schedule

This is a full-time position. Core hours are 8:30 am–5:30 pm CST, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend work based on workflow. We work hard, stay busy, and protect balance. We believe strong creative work is informed by full lives outside the office.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to type.
  • Ability to withstand sedentary and light work conditions.
  • Visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing detailed versions of files, visual inspection involving small defects on digital products, etc.
