Your path to running a project starts here.

Every great project manager started by mastering the details. As Assistant Project Manager in our Central Texas division, you’ll learn steel project delivery from proposal to closeout — with real responsibility from day one, regular time in the field, and a defined runway to running your own jobs.

Why Patriot — Not the Other Guys

A real runway. APM → Project Manager → Senior PM → division leadership — we promote the people who deliver.

Dual AISC certification. Certified Fabricator AND Advanced Certified Erector since 1991 — one accountable team from shop drawings to topped-out steel.

People-first, for real. Free, confidential mental-health support (Nivati EAP) for you and your family, Blue Points wellness rewards, pet insurance, and the Craig Cobb College Scholarship.

Modern tools, not spreadsheets. Tekla Structures, Tekla EPM, Trimble Connect, FabSuite — we invest in the stack.

A name that opens doors. 30+ years of quality, safety, and pride in every project.

About the Role

Reporting to the Division Manager, you’ll support Project Managers in achieving project goals — planning, tracking, and reporting across every phase from proposal through closeout — with regular visits to active job sites to keep office and field operations aligned.

What You’ll Do

•     Drawings & Documents: Review and interpret drawings and contract documents.

•     Schedules & Budgets: Help develop, update, and monitor project schedules, budgets, and activities.

•     Coordination: Keep the shop, field teams, and customers aligned on deliverables, schedule, and quality.

•     Project Systems: Set up and maintain project data and documentation; help establish fabrication schedules, milestones, and objectives.

•     Vendors & Subs: Review and evaluate vendor proposals; coordinate subcontractor activities; monitor vendor performance and relationships.

•     Change Orders: Assist with preparing change orders and reviewing drawings.

•     Communication: Provide regular progress and budget updates; prepare and present project information to the PM, internal teams, and customers — and build customer relationships that last.

•     Field Presence: Conduct site visits to verify progress, address field issues, and keep plans and reality in sync.
