Job DetailsJob Location: Austin, TX 78701Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeSalary Range: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 SalaryTravel Percentage: NegligibleJob Category: Information TechnologyPosition Overview  Position works, with limited supervision, within TAC’s Data & Reporting team to support TAC’s business intelligence (BI) efforts of converting data to information and ultimately knowledge for internal and external stakeholders. Responsible for developing solutions to respond to reporting requirements including modeling of target data structures, extraction, transformation and loading of data, creating business metadata, and presentation of data to develop static and interactive reporting, dashboards, pixel-perfect and subscription-based reports as needed. Serves to establish and support a central repository in reporting and data administration within TAC. Essential Job Functions Design data infrastructure to extract and organize data for authorized individuals to access. Identify TAC’s internal and external data sources, collaborating with department SMEs to determine their data storage and organizational needs and using the information to create and maintain data infrastructure for internal users. SQL Server Database Administrator which involves database maintenance, tuning, upgrades and problem solving. Contribute to the creation, maintenance and expansion of the conceptual and logical enterprise data models using modern techniques and methods for data warehousing data mart OLAP systems. Integrating new data source as required by business needs. Develop database solutions to store and retrieve TAC’s data. Support the whole data pipeline creation and successful executions: starting from row data, through structuring data and pushing it to Data Warehouse, Operational Data Store (ODS) and Dashboards. Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions. Responsible for the entire lifecycle of extract, transform and load (ETL) pipelines creation and maintenance from the concept to PROD release including data analysis and requirement elicitation, implementing data pipelines, testing, gathering and migrating code. Convert business needs into data and system requirements, algin business processes with IT systems and manage the flow of data and information within TAC. Understand the logic behind the queries, with relation to the business cases. Working with key stakeholders to understand what data element is valuable for business to represented on the dashboard. Develop presentation layer objects that present data in a manner that is easily understandable to business users for report creation, with the intention of BI self-service within the current analytics package or via a connector. Maintains TAC databases, through administration and support including, but not limited to, upgrades, patching, etc. Analyzes business needs and develops requirements (alone or in collaboration with a Business Systems/Intelligence Analyst) and prepares technical specifications based on those gathered requirements. As a partner and subject matter expert to the business, establish a mindset that data functions are an integral part of existing business processes, process modifications or process implementations. Perform additional job duties as assigned. QualificationsExperience / Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, mathematics, computer and information management or related area required. A minimum of five years’ technical experience accessing enterprise data sources and developing enterprise reporting required. Experience and proficiency in insurance, government or financial industries preferred. Other Skills & Abilities Must demonstrate understanding of data warehouse concepts, software quality assurance testing, and the software development life cycle process. Strong technical knowledge of the following tools/software applications: SQL Server 2022, Azure SQLDB, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) /ADF, Power BI/SSRS and CRM. Create and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views. Implement database schemas, indexing strategies, and performance tuning. Design and implement ETL/ELT processes to extract data from multiple sources. Develop data pipelines for batch and real-time data processing. Perform data transformation, cleansing, and validation. Maintain and optimize data warehouse solutions. Automate workflows and schedule jobs using ETL tools. Knowledge of Azure Data Factory is plus. Must have strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Position requires the ability to work independently and manage complex workload with minimal direction from management. Position requires ability to establish strong working relationships with all teams and management. Position requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to relate to people with a variety of cultural, economic and educational backgrounds. Position requires skill with research, analysis and reporting, and database management. Must demonstrate ability to understand sophisticated mathematical models and concepts, interpret financial data, and effectively present sophisticated analysis and findings.
