This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing design projects from conception to completion and maintaining the company's design standards to enhance brand identity and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the design team, providing direction, mentorship and support to foster a collaborative and productive work environment. Oversee the development and execution of design projects, ensuring they align with the company's strategic goals and brand guidelines. Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to understand design requirements and translate them into effective design solutions. Evaluate and improve design processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and creativity within the team. Stay updated with industry trends, tools and technologies to ensure the company remains at the forefront of design innovation. Manage project timelines, budgets and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of design projects. Conduct regular design reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality outputs. Represent the design team in meetings and presentations, effectively communicating design concepts and strategies to stakeholders. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the design team to enhance skills and knowledge. QualificationsEducation Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field. Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in design management, preferably within the commercial furniture or interior design industry. Proven track record of successfully leading design projects from concept to completion. Experience in managing and mentoring design teams to achieve project goals. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to design and construction. Skills and Abilities Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team of designers. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients, stakeholders and team members. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit and CET. Experience with specifying software such as CAP 2020 or equivalent. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements. Knowledge of sustainable design practices and the ability to incorporate them into projects. Contract furniture industry knowledge, required. Working knowledge of Herman Miller and/or Knoll, preferred.
