Summary of Position

Assists manager in the overall management and operation of the department.  Duties include, but are not limited to the improvement, development, and management of the eBooks operations, including accepting and processing donations, shelving and shipping orders, and training eBooks workers.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Adheres to the assigned work schedule and punctuality are an essential function of the job.
  • Schedules, develops, evaluates, and counsels his/her employees.  Utilizes participatory management.
  • Supervises and performs initial sort and grading of donated media/books.
  • Ensures production goals are met and pre-scan/recycle counts are accurately maintained.
  • Supervises media/books shipping for accuracy and promptness goals.
  • Works with department head to analyze workflow processes and recommend process improvements to ensure rapid and efficient operation.
  • Ensures work areas are maintained and organized.   Work areas are cleaned at the end of each day.
  • Maintains a positive, team-oriented relationship with management, peers, and subordinates.
  • Monitors supply inventory and creates supply orders when necessary.  
  • Contributes to making budget and reducing expenses.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and professional development to staff.
  • Supervise and delegates responsibilities to the staff to insure responsibilities are met.
  • Ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Meets goals and fulfills responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates ethics and complies with Corporate Compliance Program.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has supervisory responsibilities over the eCommerce team members.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Skilled with Windows PC and operating system, Microsoft Excel, and Internet. 
  • Experienced in customer focused sales and support environments. 
  • Must be able to multi-task, and work both rapidly and efficiently. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English. 
  • Eyesight and manual dexterity to differentiate between and classify items. 
  • Must be able to understand and follow directions well. 
  • Ability to stand for eight hours. 
  • Ability to bend and twist. 
  • Ability to lift and carry 70 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to figure percentages and perform simple math computations. 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel and twist for 8 hours. 
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently. 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employees is regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work. 
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required as business demands dictate.
