Overview

Abacus Plumbing Air Conditioning & Electrical is currently seeking an Electrical Service Manager to join our team comprised of creative and energetic employees, who are dedicated to delivering the best customer service experience every day.  Our Electrical Service Managers are tasked with managing daily field operations, employee training, retention, recruiting, safety, vendor meeting and ensuring the technicians are providing outstanding service to our customers.

 

The Service Manager is responsible for the overall management, planning, and execution of the Electrical and Generator Service Divisions’ technical and field operations. This role leads a team of service professionals, ensures operational excellence, and delivers high-quality technical support and customer service in the field. The Service Manager is accountable for technical training, field performance, compliance, and the direct supervision of service and generator technicians.

Qualifications

Do I Have What It Takes?

  • Minimum High School Graduate/GED Equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the electrical field.
  • Journeyman and/or Master License required.
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience in generator maintenance, repair, or a related field.
  • Experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a technical or service environment.
  • Deep understanding of electrical and generator systems, including electrical and mechanical components.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Service Titan and dispatch/scheduling software is a plus.

Responsibilities

What Will I Do?

  • Lead, mentor, and coach field technicians and apprentices to achieve performance goals.
  • Drive department sales by training staff on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service.
  • Monitor and improve key metrics including average ticket, closing rate, and truck revenue.
  • Ensure operational excellence through accurate invoicing, inventory control, safety compliance, and reporting.
  • Manage service projects including scheduling, resource allocation, and field execution.
  • Handle escalated customer concerns with a focus on delivering 100% satisfaction.
  • Promote lead generation through proactive field engagement and technician initiatives.
  • Monitor and reduce callbacks and warranty claims through quality assurance.
  • Occasionally visit job sites to support field teams and ensure standards are met.
  • Participate in bonus plan (EBITDAm revenue, margin targets)
