Position Overview
C2O Americas is seeking skilled and motivated Fiber Optic Technicians to support operations in Austin, Texas. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic systems critical to high-performance network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in fiber installation and testing, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform ribbon fiber splicing, termination, and testing.
- Install, terminate, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems (Cat6A).
- Conduct fiber certification and copper cable testing using Fluke test equipment.
- Read and interpret cabling layouts, drawings, and installation documentation.
- Maintain high-quality workmanship while following safety and project standards.
- Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic systems to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance
- Install conduit, pull cable, and mount network equipment as required
- Document work performed, including test results and installation records
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company standards while working in various environments, including heights and confined spaces
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical training or certification in fiber optics preferred
- Proven experience with fiber splicing, termination, and testing
- Familiarity with telecommunications standards and best practices
- Ability to operate specialized tools and equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed
Work Environment
- Combination of indoor and outdoor work settings
- Physically demanding role requiring lifting, climbing, and extended periods of standing
- May involve working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions
Compensation
$40.00 - $42.00 Based on experience, with opportunities for overtime and career advancement.
