The role is to provide luxury service, including attentiveness, anticipation, courteousness, and efficiency, to all guests while at the Front Desk of The Loren Hotel Austin and at the Concierge Desk at The Loren Hotel Austin Residences.  Some of the key duties and responsibilities include: Greet and welcome all guests within acceptable distance.  Must show genuine interest, demonstrate anticipatory service, and close interactions appropriately. Must smile and maintain engaging expression. Maintain proper use of computer and telephone systems and ensure that The Loren’s hotel standards are met.  Courteously answer guest inquiries about hotel services and facilities. Provide concierge support to our Residences which includes answering phone inquiries and accepting mail while being physically available at the Concierge desk at the Residence tower.   Be aware of all rates, packages, and special promotions.  Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, with employees of all levels and guests, using proper etiquette in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner. Always maintain a warm, friendly and courteous demeanor.  Complete and facilitate in a friendly, efficient, and courteous manner, established check-in and check-out procedures for guests on a daily basis, in order to ensure guests are satisfied and in rooms as requested.  Be able to perform and complete all tasks and duties on the shift checklist in a timely and efficient manner.  Maintain a clean work area.  Contribute to a healthy and safe work environment.  Perform other duties as requested by leadership    Supervisory Duties None   Core Competencies Drawn from our core values, each competency is built upon a set of basic behaviors that are shared by all associates, regardless of role which include: Integrity and Respect Communication Innovation Teamwork and Relationships Hospitality Job Excellence Qualifications  Education/Formal Training High school diploma or equivalent, required.   Experience Previous hotel experience in guest facing position, preferably in a luxury hotel environment. 1+ previous guest service experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Ability to work a flexible schedule is required.   Knowledge/Skills Must have high school graduate level mathematical aptitude, know standard cash handling procedures and knowledge of computerized cash register systems. Must have experience in dealing directly with the public and acquired general knowledge of basic customer service skills. Must be fluent in oral and written English. Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions, work on more than one task at a time, and be able to communicate both verbally and in writing. Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations. Must be highly organized and able to pay attention to minute written and verbal details, particularly when performing multiple tasks.   Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 90% of shift is standing, Bending/kneeling - repeated bending and kneeling required while filing. Mobility - must be able to reach all areas of the hotel to assist clients. Occasional carrying and lifting of files and office items up to 25 lbs.   Environment 95% indoor office.
