HPC Principal Systems Development Engineer

What you’ll achieve

As a HPC Principal Systems Development Engineer, you will design, define and implement complex system requirements for customers and prepare studies and analyses of existing systems.

You will:

  • Indirect lead, motivate and direct a workgroup to deliver HPC cluster architecture, deployment, and management

  • Deliver assigned system interfaces with design and process across extended teams

  • Prepare documentation for inspection/testing procedures

  • Design, develop and implement cost effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment

  • Prepare test and diagnostic programs, design test fixtures and equipment and complete specifications and procedures for new products

Essential Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership and autonomy, with the ability to drive initiatives, set technical direction by influencing indirectly team.

  • Extensive hands‑on experience with HPC cluster architecture, deployment, and management, including underlying building blocks, provisioning frameworks, and cluster management tools (Bright, Omnia, OCAHMI).

  • Deep knowledge with the Linux Operating System in an integration engineering context.

  • Experience in integration and system testing, including the ability to create test plans and test scenarios

  • Significant hands‑on proficiency with Ethernet and InfiniBand interconnects and strong understanding of system management interfaces/tools such as IPMI and out‑of‑band management frameworks.

Desirable Requirements

  • Understanding Intel, AMD, and NVIDIA processor architectures, with exposure to NVIDIA GPGPUs.

  • Experience optimizing HPC applications in industry verticals and developing end‑to‑end HPC solution proposals for customer requirements

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $148,000.00- $222,000.00
