We're looking for an HR Generalist who wants to build a long-term career in People Operations by learning every aspect of our department. Recruiting is a core responsibility of this position, and the successful candidate will own the day-to-day recruiting process while gradually expanding into onboarding, employee administration, benefits, compliance, employee experience, and additional People Operations responsibilities.

Success in this role begins with learning UPLIFT's culture, people, systems, and processes. As you become proficient in our day-to-day operations, you'll gradually assume additional responsibilities and ownership across the department.

The ideal candidate enjoys recruiting, values process, communicates professionally, and takes pride in providing exceptional support to employees, candidates, and leaders. They understand that every organization operates differently and appreciate the importance of learning the business before recommending improvements.

What You'll Bring
  • 2+ years of Human Resources experience with demonstrated recruiting and onboarding responsibilities

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the organization

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment

  • Enjoys recruiting and building relationships with candidates throughout the hiring process

  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn every aspect of People Operations

  • Comfortable following established processes while learning new systems and responsibilities

  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, or similar business software

Bonus Points For
  • Experience with Teamtailor, ADP Workforce Now, or similar ATS/HRIS platforms

  • Experience recruiting for multiple departments or business functions

  • Benefits administration experience

  • Experience supporting compliance activities

What You’ll Do

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition (Primary Responsibility)

  • Own the day-to-day recruiting process across multiple departments from job posting through accepted offer

  • Review applicants, conduct phone screens, and coordinate interviews with hiring managers

  • Maintain proactive communication with candidates throughout the hiring process to deliver an exceptional candidate experience

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring needs and recommend recruiting strategies

  • Prepare offer letters and coordinate pre-employment activities

  • Maintain accurate candidate records, recruiting documentation, and hiring activity within Teamtailor

Onboarding & Employee Administration

  • Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation activities

  • Maintain employee records and People Operations documentation

  • Assist with employment verifications, personnel file administration, and employee status changes

  • Coordinate onboarding and separation processes while ensuring a positive employee experience

  • Maintain People Operations forms, documentation, and knowledge resources to support consistent department processes

Benefits & Compliance

  • Assist employees with benefit-related questions and enrollment activities

  • Support open enrollment communications and benefit initiatives

  • Assist with leave administration and accommodation processes

  • Coordinate with benefit vendors and third-party administrators

  • Support compliance activities, reporting, and HR audits

Employee Experience

  • Support employee communications, recognition programs, and engagement initiatives

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to employees, candidates, and hiring managers

  • Respond to employee inquiries and provide timely, professional support

  • Help create a welcoming and positive employee experience throughout the employment lifecycle

Projects & Continuous Improvement
  • Support People Operations initiatives and special projects

  • Assist with updating HR documentation and Knowledge Base articles

  • Document and maintain People Operations processes and standard operating procedures

  • Identify opportunities to improve department efficiency while maintaining consistency with established People Operations processes

  • Partner with the People Operations team as business needs evolve

What Success Looks Like

During your first 90 days, you'll focus on learning UPLIFT's culture, people, systems, and processes. You'll begin by mastering the recruiting, onboarding, and day-to-day responsibilities that keep the department running smoothly while building strong relationships across the organization. Success is measured not only by technical knowledge, but by a willingness to learn, collaborate, and contribute across every area of People Operations. As your knowledge and confidence grow, you'll gradually assume additional responsibilities and ownership throughout the People Operations function while developing a thorough understanding of how UPLIFT supports its employees and leaders.
