Who You Are: We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act a Janitor for our resident facilities. This person will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to motivate while maintaining relationship with staff and residents. The right candidate will always strive to do the best job possible, to be creative and to work towards accomplishing facility goals. Position Summary: The Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, safety, and overall condition of the community’s common areas and public spaces. This position supports the Environmental Services Department by performing routine cleaning, floor care, trash removal, room setups, and other assigned duties to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, families, visitors, and associates. Accountabilities: Clean and maintain common areas, including hallways, lobbies, entrances, elevators, stairwells, lounges, dining areas, restrooms, and other assigned spaces. Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, and maintain floors according to established procedures. Perform routine floor care, including use of appropriate floor-cleaning equipment as trained and assigned. Empty trash and recycling containers and transport waste to designated disposal areas. Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces and public areas in accordance with infection prevention procedures. Clean entrances, doors, glass, windows, and other surfaces as assigned. Maintain exterior entrance areas, walkways, patios, and other designated areas free of trash and debris. Assist with room and furniture setups for meetings, events, activities, and other community functions. Move furniture, supplies, equipment, and other materials as needed. Respond promptly to spills and other cleaning needs to help prevent slips, falls, and safety hazards. Maintain housekeeping equipment, carts, storage areas, and supplies in a clean and organized condition. Monitor supplies and notify the supervisor when additional materials are needed. Properly use, label, store, and handle cleaning chemicals according to established safety procedures. Follow infection prevention practices and use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Identify and report maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, safety hazards, or unusual conditions to the appropriate supervisor. Maintain resident privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times. Provide courteous and professional service to residents, families, visitors, and coworkers. Assist Housekeeping and Environmental Services associates with special projects and cleaning assignments as needed. Attend required meetings, safety training, and in-service education. Perform other duties as assigned.
