Hola! As a seasoned expert in the Regulatory and Food Manufacturing industry, we know you’ve probably got your hands full (figuratively speaking) of evaluations, strategies, and operational knowledge, but we’re glad you’re taking the time to eat—er—read this....Pardon our Freudian Chip! What we’d really like to know is whether or not you’d be interested in keeping your hands full of all those things, but tossing in (literally this time) our delicious tortilla chips, hot sauce, and queso into the mix. Sound like something you’re interested in? We look forward to hearing from you!

About you:
  • Your attitude about communication can be summed by this simple song you made up in grade school: “Cross your ‘T’s! Dot your ‘I’s! Clear communication is easy as pie!”
  • You’re the person people call when they need a hand because even if it’s something you’ve got no experience with, they know you’ll figure it out. You use what you have, and you make it work!
  • Solving problems comes naturally to you. You’re able to think on your feet, keep things nice and neat, and you never miss a beat! (No, really! You even caught our attempt to make all of that rhyme. Sweeeet!)
  • Like a highly detailed weather radar that updates minute-by-minute, you never miss a thing! Your attention to detail rivals a microscope or a magnifying glass. You’re that good!
  • You always say that collaboration is the key to success! You value your time to work individually, but you also recognize that a team is always better together—Juntos es Mejor.
  • You are organized, detail-oriented, and so confident in your independent regulatory decisions that you high-five yourself on the way out. (We would too, honestly.)

What you will do:
  • Lead label artwork reviews and approvals, ensuring regulatory compliance prior to commercialization and print.
  • Build and approve ingredient statements and nutrition facts panels to reach compliance with federal and state regulations as well as internal Brand requirements.
  • Partner closely with Product Development, Quality, Procurement, Legal, Brand and Operations to support innovation, continuous improvement initiatives, and product specification database.
  • Manage supplier management database and approve raw material ingredients for accurate regulatory information and testing as needed.
  • Support 3rd party certifications (such as GFCO, Non-GMO, Organic, Whole30
etc.)
  • Stay current on federal and state regulatory and legislative developments related to food labeling, CPG, and claims assessing impact to business operations.
  • Maintain Regulatory alignment with co-manufacturing and external partners through clear communication and documentation.
  • Provide internal regulatory guidance on labeling, claims, allergen statements and ingredient compliance.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of regulatory processes, templates and workflows.

Your experience:
  • 5+ years of regulatory and labeling activities in a food-manufacturing environment is required.
  • Strong foundation in FDA food labeling regulations and Prop 65 is required.
  • Degree in Food Science, Nutrition or related discipline is a plus
  • Exposure using regulatory and supplier management systems such as Trustwell Genesis Foods and TraceGains is preferred
  • Highly proficient in utilizing popular computer software/desktop applications (such as MS Word, MS Excel, supplier management software, etc.) is required
  • Has worked with shelf-stable and temperature-sensitive products is a plus.
  • Experience with international regulations, a plus.
