Sourceability® is a global digital distributor of electronic components transforming how modern businesses bring products to market. With innovation, quality and logistics as the backbone of the company, Sourceability’s cutting-edge products and services expedite the procurement process across a wide range of industries, including communications/cellular, consumer electronics, and auto manufacturing.

Sourceability is building a new Global Engineering Organization (GEO) to strengthen internal software delivery, improve production ownership, and build long-term engineering capability inside the company.

We are looking for a Senior Android / Mobile Warehouse Apps Engineer to design, build, maintain, and improve mobile applications used in warehouse and operational workflows. This role will focus on Android-based mobile applications, ruggedized / warehouse devices, barcode or camera-driven workflows, backend API integration, reliable field performance, and practical support for UAT and production rollout.

This is a senior hands-on engineering role. Working hybrid from our Austin, TX office. The engineer will work closely with Product / Delivery Managers, Product Group Team Leads / Architects, backend engineers, QA, DevOps, and warehouse / operations users. The role does not own formal people management, but it is expected to provide senior technical judgment, mentor other engineers where needed, and help define mobile engineering standards for GEO.

The right candidate should be comfortable working with business-critical mobile workflows where usability, speed, reliability, offline behavior, device compatibility, and release quality directly affect warehouse and operations teams.

Mobile / Warehouse Focus:

The primary focus of this role is Android and warehouse-facing mobile applications. Cross-platform experience is useful, but the first priority is strong Android engineering capability for operational workflows, warehouse devices, scanning, image capture, API integration, and reliable deployment to business users.

Insight on Your Impact:

  • Design, develop, maintain, and improve Android mobile applications used in warehouse and operational environments.
  • Build reliable mobile workflows for scanning, receiving, picking, packing, inventory, image capture, user validation, and other warehouse or field use cases.
  • Integrate mobile applications with backend APIs, internal platforms, ERP-related systems, and other business-critical services.
  • Optimize mobile application performance, stability, readability, and speed for real warehouse and field conditions.
  • Design and support offline-capable or poor-connectivity workflows, including local storage, sync logic, retries, conflict handling, and user-friendly error handling.
  • Support ruggedized Android devices, barcode scanners, camera workflows, device permissions, app configuration, and mobile deployment processes.
  • Work with Product / Delivery Managers to clarify mobile requirements, user workflows, acceptance criteria, UAT feedback, and rollout priorities.
  • Work with Product Group Team Leads / Architects and backend engineers to define API contracts, data flows, authentication, error handling, and technical dependencies.
  • Work with QA to define mobile test coverage, regression scenarios, device testing needs, and release readiness criteria.
  • Support production troubleshooting for mobile application issues, including device-specific problems, API failures, performance issues, sync failures, and user-impacting defects.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and define practical remediation actions for mobile production incidents or recurring defects.
  • Write clean, maintainable, testable code and participate in code reviews, design reviews, and technical documentation.
  • Help improve mobile engineering standards, release discipline, monitoring / diagnostics, logging, and supportability across GEO.
  • Provide senior technical input for future mobile capabilities, including computer vision integration, image quality, capture workflows, and AI-assisted warehouse processes.

Your Qualifications, Your Influence:

  • 5+ years of professional mobile application development experience, with strong hands-on Android experience.
  • Strong experience with Kotlin and / or Java, Android SDK, Android Studio, Gradle, and modern Android development practices.
  • Experience building production mobile applications that integrate with REST APIs, authentication services, backend systems, and business workflows.
  • Strong understanding of mobile UI / UX principles for operational users, including speed, readability, low-friction workflows, and error recovery.
  • Experience with offline-capable mobile design, local storage, synchronization patterns, and poor-connectivity scenarios.
  • Experience troubleshooting mobile application issues across devices, OS versions, network conditions, backend dependencies, and user workflows.
  • Practical understanding of mobile security, authentication, permissions, secure storage, and data protection.
  • Experience with automated testing, manual validation, regression testing support, and release readiness for mobile applications.
  • Ability to work with Product / Delivery, QA, DevOps, backend engineering, and business stakeholders in a distributed environment.
  • Ability to work independently, make practical technical decisions, and support urgent production or UAT issues without heavy supervision.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain mobile technical risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • High ownership mindset, good judgment, and practical problem-solving approach.

Preferred Skills and Technical Familiarity:

  • Experience with warehouse, logistics, supply chain, inventory, receiving, shipping, or distribution center applications.
  • Experience with ruggedized Android devices, Zebra / Honeywell / similar scanners, barcode scanning SDKs, RFID, or camera-based capture workflows.
  • Experience with Android Enterprise, MDM / EMM tools, private app distribution, managed device configuration, or enterprise mobile deployment.
  • Experience with Jetpack components, MVVM or similar architecture patterns, Room / SQLite, WorkManager, Retrofit / OkHttp, and modern Android libraries.
  • Experience with Kotlin coroutines, background processing, push notifications, and mobile diagnostics / crash reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with cross-platform frameworks such as React Native or Flutter, while still having strong native Android capability.
  • Experience integrating mobile applications with .NET backend services, SQL Server-backed systems, ERP systems, NetSuite, or warehouse platforms.
  • Exposure to computer vision, image capture quality, image upload workflows, model integration, or AI-assisted mobile features.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD for mobile apps, automated build pipelines, and release management.
  • Background in electronic components, B2B technology, global distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or similar operational environments.

Success in the First 90 Days:

  • Understand Sourceability's mobile / warehouse application landscape, current users, operational workflows, devices, backend integrations, and major pain points.
  • Establish working relationships with Product / Delivery, backend engineering, QA, DevOps, warehouse / operations users, and GEO leadership.
  • Review current mobile architecture, codebase, release process, testing approach, device deployment model, and production support gaps.
  • Identify key risks around application stability, device compatibility, offline behavior, API dependencies, performance, security, and release readiness.
  • Improve technical clarity of active mobile backlog items by helping with design notes, estimates, dependencies, risks, and acceptance criteria.
  • Deliver meaningful improvements or fixes for at least one important mobile workflow or production issue.
  • Define practical recommendations for mobile code quality, release discipline, testing coverage, logging, diagnostics, and supportability.
  • Support UAT and rollout activities for warehouse or operational mobile workflows, including defect triage and user feedback review.
  • Create an initial mobile technical roadmap or remediation plan aligned with GEO priorities and business needs.

  • Competitive salary
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities
  • Collaborative global work environment
