The Senior Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing the company’s worldwide tax strategy, compliance, and reporting. They will lead direct and indirect tax matters across multiple jurisdictions, and partner with Finance, Legal, and external advisors to minimize risk and ensure compliance. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in U.S. GAAP/IFRS tax accounting, global tax regimes, and cross-border structuring for a multinational organization.

Tax Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement global tax strategies to optimize effective tax rate while ensuring compliance.
  • Evaluate the tax impact of business initiatives, corporate reorganizations, acquisitions, and cross-border transactions.
  • Provide technical guidance on U.S. international tax provisions (GILTI, BEAT, Subpart F, FTC, Section 174, etc.) and foreign regimes (OECD Pillar Two, CFC rules, local transfer pricing).

Tax Compliance:

  • Oversee preparation and review of U.S. federal, state, and local income tax returns, as well as foreign tax filings (corporate income, VAT/GST, withholding taxes).
  • Manage global indirect tax compliance, including VAT, GST, sales/use, and excise taxes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns, estimated payments, and information reporting (Forms 5471, 8858, 926, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the CAO on intercompany billing, royalties, and cost allocations.

Tax Provision and Reporting:

  • Lead annual global income tax provision under ASC 740 and IAS 12.
  • Manage uncertain tax positions, valuation allowances, and effective tax rate forecasting.
  • Partner with external auditors to support statutory and consolidated reporting.

Governance & Risk Management:

  • Monitor global tax legislative changes and assess impacts to the company.
  • Manage tax audits, inquiries, and disputes across jurisdictions.
  • Design and implement internal controls over tax processes.

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Coordinate with regional teams.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Legal, Treasury, HR, Operations) on tax matters.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external advisors and tax authorities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in corporate tax accounting, preferably in a public accounting firm or a corporate tax department.
  • Strong knowledge of international, federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Experience with tax compliance software (e.g., Avalara) and ERP systems (e.g., Netsuite).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex tax issues to non-tax professionals.
