Job DetailsJob Location: Legal Address - Austin, IN 47102Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $19.80 - $21.80 HourlyJob Shift: 1stResponsibility The Shipping Team Leader will oversee daily shipping operations in our automotive manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for leading shipping associates, ensuring accurate material flow and on-time deliveries, and maintaining a safe, efficient, and organized work environment utilizing strong leadership skills, logistics experience, and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.   Support (ATA) efforts to promote Corporate Social Responsibility, (CSR) and ensure activities are carried out in cooperation with G-TEKT CSR, and Corporate Governance initiatives and activities to ensure compliance in functional areas of responsibility. Support the Corporate Governance Policy of Austin Tri-Hawk Automotive and the Objectives of:                           Meeting challenges of changed legal and business environment.                         Enhancing the trust of ATA among customers, associates, and society. Implementing activities to improve ATA business operations using a strategy of Steady Compliance.   Accountable to Shipping Coordinator, Shipping Assist Mgr.   Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred 2-7 years of experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics (automotive preferred) Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred Forklift experience/certification required or ability to obtain Familiarity with EDI, ASN processes, ERP or warehouse management systems Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills Experience in shipping and logistics operations   Leadership Manage shipping team and escalate needed concerns to the Shipping Coordinator Train new employees and reinforce standard work instructions Problem solving and decision making under pressure Foster teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment Promote adherence to safety, quality and continuous improvement of productivity standards Model proper, respectful and courteous communications with all associates and guests   Service Customer-focused mindset with a strong sense of urgency. Ensure 100% on-time delivery in alignment with shipping schedules and EDI releases Respond quickly to delivery risks, shortages, or premium freight situations Communicate effectively with all departments and associates. Support customer-specific requirements (labeling, ASN accuracy, packaging standards) Ensure facility safety and forklift safety around all associates Assist in maintaining physical inventory accuracy Comply with all OSHA forklift regulations Support ISO-9001 / ISO-14001 requirements Operations Knowledge of shipping, warehouse, and logistics processes. Ability to manage workflow, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience with ERP/WMS systems and shipping documentation. Strong attention to detail and process adherence Lead daily activities including staging, loading and documentation Ensure accuracy of shipments, including part numbers, quantities, labels and paperwork Manage transport of production between manufacturing teams Ensure compliance with FIFO, inventory control and material handling  Ensure timely disposal of scrap materials and facilitate trailer changes Participate in keeping area near and around trash compactor clean Enforce 5S within shipping and dock area   Other duties assigned by the Shipping Coordinator, Managers   Physical Requirements and Work Environment Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods (8-12hrs) Lift up to 75 lbs. regularly Perform repetitive movements (bending, reaching, lifting) Automotive manufacturing facility  Exposure to moving equipment, noise, and varying temperatures.  PPE required (safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots) Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred 2-7 years of experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics (automotive preferred) Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred Forklift experience/certification required or ability to obtain Familiarity with EDI, ASN processes, ERP or warehouse management systems Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills Experience in shipping and logistics operations
