Job DetailsJob Location: Main Campus - Austin, TX 78739  Review instructions left by the teacher prior to beginning class to familiarize oneself with the lesson plan and to ensure that all necessary materials are present in the classroom. Follow directions left by the teacher for conducting the class, seeking out other teachers or the Head of Grammar School, School of Logic or School of Rhetoric to answer any questions as needed. Ensure understanding of the class schedule so that students are released on time for their next class. Keep proper discipline in the classroom and on the school premises for a good teaching environment. Know and be able to implement the procedures for dealing with emergency situations and participate in fire, lock down and other emergency drills according to Veritas safety protocol while on campus. Seek to build rapport and establish relationships with Veritas teachers while on campus.   QualificationsRequired Personal Qualities Have received Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior and believe that the Bible is God’s Word and standard for faith and daily living. Be in whole-hearted agreement with Veritas Academy’s Statements on Faith, Life, and Conduct. Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and action toward others (Luke 6:40). This includes being committed to God’s biblical standards for sexual conduct. Be a Christian who is, and will remain during the period of employment, an active member of a Christ-centered church, growing in his/her Christian relationship with God, and actively practicing and exhibiting Christian principles of the Christian faith. Be spiritually mature and consistently maintain a daily devotional and prayer life. Recognize the role of parents as primarily responsible before God for their children’s education and be prepared to assist them in that task.   Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Basic understanding of classical, Christian, University-Model education. Effective written and verbal communication skills, both one-on-one and in front of a group. Excellent problem solving skills and ability to quickly develop solutions when issues arise. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time well.   Required Education and Experience High school diploma   Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree 1+ years teaching experience   Physical Demands Take CPR and first aid training at least every other year, maintain certification, and be willing and able to render such aid when necessary.
