About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to lead revenue analytics, business intelligence, and strategic financial projects for our groundbreaking space simulation games. This role focuses on translating our unique business model into actionable insights, developing sophisticated revenue recognition frameworks, and partnering across the organization on high-impact initiatives. You'll work at the intersection of finance, data analytics, and business strategy—building the dashboards, models, and analytical frameworks that drive decision-making for a global gaming company with operations across the UK, US, Germany, and Canada.
 

What does a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager at CIG do?

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive revenue recognition models for our business model, including backer contributions, digital goods, subscriptions, and in-game purchases, ensuring compliance with ASC 606/IFRS 15.
  • Create detailed revenue forecasting models by product line, region, and customer segment, analyzing customer lifetime value, cohort behavior, and monetization trends.
  • Design and implement executive dashboards and KPI frameworks using Power BI and other BI tools, providing real-time visibility into financial and operational metrics.
  • Develop sales performance dashboards tracking conversion funnels, customer acquisition costs, sales efficiency, and campaign ROI across regions and channels.
  • Lead high-priority financial projects including system implementations, process improvements, and strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, Development, and international finance teams to harmonize reporting and analytics across regions.
  • Build financial models to evaluate new revenue streams, pricing strategies, and partnership opportunities.
  • Establish data governance standards and ensure data integrity across reporting systems.
     

What do we expect from our Financial Planning & Analysis Managers?

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive FP&A experience, preferably in software, gaming, or subscription-based businesses.
  • Deep expertise in revenue recognition principles (ASC 606/IFRS 15) with ability to translate accounting rules into business insights.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI platforms with proven track record building dashboards and self-service analytics.
  • Expert-level Excel and financial modeling skills; SQL knowledge strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial planning tools (NetSuite, Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, etc.).
  • Exceptional communication skills with ability to present complex financial information to non-finance audiences.
     

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in gaming, entertainment, or technology industry.
  • Background in crowdfunding, digital goods, or complex multi-currency revenue models.
  • Python or R programming skills for advanced analytics.
  • Experience with customer analytics platforms and marketing attribution tools.
  • Previous experience working in multi-national organizations with complex reporting requirements.
