The Purchasing Team Lead is responsible for supervising daily operations of the Purchased Goods Warehouse. This includes warehouse production, internal customer service, vendor management, inventory control, receiving products, and shipments to retail locations. The Purchasing Team Lead executes processes to ensure efficiency and maximization as well as creates best practices for inventory control and is responsible for supervising their direct reports. The New Goods Supervisor will hold each accountable by setting specific performance expectations, providing necessary training, personally following up, and giving consistent and candid feedback.


Role and Responsibilities

  • Supervise Purchased Goods Warehouse operations, including receiving product, inventory and allocations. 
  • Supervises receipt of new product, inventory, and documentation. 
  • Ensures accuracy in inventory and allocation of product, including necessary documentation. 
  • Communicates with Purchasing Manager on warehouse stock and anticipated needs for future order fulfillment. 
  • Collaborates with Transportation leadership to schedule shipments from new Goods Warehouse to retail stores. 
  • Ensures UPCs are accurately labeled, identified and entered into system prior to distribution to retail stores. 
  • Ensure all policies and procedures for accounting, inventory and reporting are followed within New Goods department. 
  • Maintain effective email, phone and face to face communication with all internal departments. 
  • Use feedback to adjust processes to enable a smooth retail process from receipt to sale to inventory count process. 
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized and professional facility. 
  • Comply with safety and security practices including reporting safety hazards and injuries.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications 

  • Must be able to understand work instructions in English.
  • Exhibit respect for diversity of thought and have experience to advance it in teams/organization.
  • Minimum 1-year experience in logistics, inventory control, order fulfillment, or similar field with supervisory responsibilities. 
  • Must have a valid Texas Drivers License. 
  • Must have Microsoft Office & Excel experience. 
  • Must have excellent analytical, creative and flexible problem solving and decision making skills. 


Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. 
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear. 
  • Ability to cope with and tolerate moderate levels of stress is also a necessity. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to operate a telephone and keyboard. 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles.
