How You Will Make an Impact (Essential Functions)Â Â
- Develop and implement an age-appropriate boxing and martial arts curriculum for participants. Â
- Conduct engaging and challenging training sessions focused on boxing techniques, self-defense, and character development.Â
- Ensure the safety of participants by enforcing proper techniques, providing adequate supervision, and maintaining a supportive and inclusive environment.Â
- Motivate and encourage youth to set and achieve personal goals, both inside and outside the gym.Â
- Foster positive relationships with participants, parents, and staff members to support the overall success of the program.Â
- Maintain accurate records of participant attendance, progress, and behavior.Â
- Continuously assess and adjust the program curriculum to meet the evolving needs and interests of participants.Â
- Promote the YMCA's character values, mission, wellness philosophy, and role in the community. Â
- Lead by example the Y’s mission, vision, and values with program participants, members, staff, and guests.  Â
- Become an Ambassador of the Y’s work and culture by being the ultimate storyteller of who we are as an organization and brand.  Â
- Complete other duties as assigned.  
What You Bring to the Community Enterprise Â
- Previous experience as a boxing instructor or martial arts instructor.Â
- Strong knowledge of boxing techniques, self-defense, and martial arts principles.Â
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate a diverse group of students. Â
- Demonstrated ability to create and deliver dynamic and age-appropriate training sessions.Â
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).Â
- Additional certifications in martial arts disciplines such as Tae Kwon Do or mixed martial arts are preferred.Â
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a plus.Â
