Patent Agent/Patent Associate - Austin

Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, currently has an exciting full-time employment opportunity for a Patent Agent/Patent Associate in our Intellectual Property Practice Group in our Austin, TX office. Job Requirements:

This position will support the IP Practice working on the strategic development, procurement, and counseling of patent portfolios. The ideal candidate will have 3 or more years of focused experience in the following areas:

• Drafting patent applications in the computer arts (e.g., software, AI/ML/LLMs, FinTech, web applications, telecommunications, integrated circuits, etc.)

• Prosecuting patent applications

Candidates should be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark office. Candidates with a degree or an advanced degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering and/or computer science are preferred, although candidates with degrees in mechanical engineering or other relevant experience will also be considered. Strong experience drafting complex software patent applications is a plus. Candidates must have excellent academic credentials, be comfortable working directly with clients, and possess strong writing and analytical skills.
