Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and dependable Custodian/Maintenance Worker to ensure our facilities remain clean, safe, and well-maintained. Duties
- Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, polishers, and industrial vacuums to ensure floors and surfaces are spotless and well-cared-for.
- Handle chemical agents safely during cleaning processes by following proper chemical handling safety procedures and safety protocol adherence.
- Conduct general facilities maintenance tasks such as light repairs, painting (including residential painting), and inspecting equipment to ensure operational safety.
- Assist with heavy lifting and manual handling of supplies, furniture, or equipment using safe lifting practices to prevent injury.
- Maintain sanitation standards in restrooms, kitchens, and common areas by following established cleaning protocols.
- Support overall building upkeep by performing minor repairs or notifying maintenance teams of larger issues needing attention.
Requirements
- Proven custodial or janitorial experience with knowledge of commercial or industrial cleaning techniques.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and other custodial tools.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely by understanding chemical handling safety procedures.
- Experience with facilities maintenance tasks including basic repairs and painting is preferred.
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling, and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to sanitation and safety protocol adherence.
- Customer service skills are a plus for interacting professionally with staff and visitors when needed.
