Job Opportunity: Front Desk Agent at Heywood Hotel, Austin

The Heywood Hotel is an award-winning, 7-room boutique hotel located in East Austin. We are looking for a dedicated, hard working individual ready to help our guests fall in love with our city.

Overview:

This is a great job for someone who likes to work for a small, independent, woman-owned company, enjoys being busy and thinking on their feet, and has a good eye for detail.

Our stellar front desk agents / concierges work directly with our guests to make sure they have exactly what they need for a fantastic stay.

Work includes preparing guest rooms and amenities, taking reservations, welcoming guests as they check in, directing them to the best Austin restaurants, cocktail lounges and activities, and assisting them with whatever they may need throughout their stay.

Our front desk agents help out with general hotel preparedness, including stocking supplies, managing inventories, preparing and quality-checking rooms, folding laundry and ensuring general hotel tidiness. We are a small and gutsy team. Everybody pitches in to deliver a world-class experience!

Details:

• Schedule: Fixed weekly, 2-3 days, 5-8 hours per shift, potential for full-time.
• Shifts: 7:45am-3:00pm and 11:00am-7:00pm, with some weekends and holidays required. NO OVERNIGHT SHIFTS.
• Must be available to be on-call one or two evenings per week for (rare) after-hours guest service calls. After-hours coverage is paid.
• Free Parking for employees.

Requirements:

• Process-oriented with strong computer skills (Windows, Office)
• Passion for guest satisfaction - we work hard to deliver the best hospitality experience for our guests
• Resident of Austin for at least 1 year with local knowledge
• Customer service experience and/or administrative/office experience (hotel experience is a plus)
• Attention to detail, team-oriented, and positive attitude
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Background check
