Custodian

Maintains cleanliness of Warehouse, designated office areas, restrooms, and general employee areas.

Essential Functions

• Perform all tasks in a safe manner, adhere to all safety policies/procedures, and wear appropriate PPE while performing duties.
• Maintain AIB, SQF and sanitation logs per audit requirements.
• Cleans, maintains, and operates all sanitation equipment including sit down floor scrubber, walk behind floor scrubber and intermittent material handling equipment as required.
• Dusts cobwebs, fluorescent light lenses around dock doors, break room, and office area.
• Cleans, mops white lines, sweeps underneath racks, and wiping racks, gathering shrink wrap, cardboard, pallet debris, etc. throughout warehouse.
• Refills restroom dispensers for paper towels, toilet tissue, soap, lotion, etc. as needed.
• Cleans break room including sweeping and mopping the floor, washing tables and counter tops, straightening chairs, and emptying trash receptacles as needed.
• Empties, consolidates, and transports refuse from wastebaskets, biohazard waste-cans, etc. to disposal area and/or trash compactor.
• Cleans and maintains janitorial equipment and storage areas.
• Monitors and reports on exterior of building including 18-inch sanitation perimeter as well as overall premises.
• Refills GMP supplies (hairnets, earplugs, beard nets, gloves, etc).
• Adheres to and complies to all General Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
• All other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Required

• Ability to read and interpret documents including, but not limited to, safety rules, policies, procedures and written reports or correspondence.  Ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide small units of measure. Ability to use whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Employee must have sufficient hearing to be aware of sirens and horns which alert people to danger.
• While performing this job, the employee must wear PPE, follow GMP's, be trained in knife safety. 

Preferred

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).

• Above normal heat conditions.

• Reach above, at, below, and to the side, while twisting body and twisting at waist.
• Climb stairs on a regular basis and ladders on an occasional basis.
• Pull non-powered pallet jacks while loaded with up to 1000 lbs of material, rarely.
• Work on platforms up to six foot in height, rarely.
• Grip small pieces/parts.
• Twist hands at wrist while gripping and/or carrying items.
• Close, peripheral, distance, and color vision.
• Depth perception.
• Ability to adjust focus.
