POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide support and assistance to the Distribution Center Supervisor by coordinating the workflow within an assigned department and ensuring that merchandise is processed and shipped in a safe, timely, accurate, and cost efficient manner. A Group Leader is required to assist Operations Clerks, Material Handlers and/or Merchandise Processors and must be able to perform the physical requirements of these positions as well as the physical requirements listed below.Â
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Monitor production activities and, in conjunction with supervisor and/or manager, determine operational needs
- Reporting of production information related to the department
- Assign associates to specific job functions according to production needs
- Provide training & cross-training, in coordination with the Certified Training Lead (CTL), for new and existing employeesÂ
- Communicate information to department associates in an appropriate manner in the absence of the DC Supervisor
- Maintain an awareness of associatesâ production, quality, safety, and behavior to provide feedback to the department Supervisor
- Resolve minor processing problems; notify and work with the Supervisor as needed
- Must be able to work in all departments performing various functions of the Group Leader position
- Be a âSubject Matter Expertâ (SME) on all department roles and tasks

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school education or equivalent and six months previous Distribution Center experience or equivalent experience
- Ability to perform basic math skills accurately including addition, subtraction, and multiplication
- Must be able to fill out paperwork and forms neatly and accurately
- High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, & planning skills; including verbal/written communication
- Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team
- Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
