Role Overview:

The team at GTI Energy is quickly expanding and we are seeking a Plant Manager to join the team in Goodyear, AZ. This is a unique opportunity to patriciate in the planning and sustainment of new facilities and production lines for the Company. The Plant Manager will be actively involved in the design process of new facilities, as well as identifying process improvement for current projects related to manufacturing efficiency.  Working directly alongside Company ownership and the planning team for the new facility, this position will play an integral role in the overall success in the opening for new locations. Once the facility has been opened, this position will be responsible for overseeing all manufacturing operations for the facility. 

Job Responsibilities:

Planning

  • Partner with the various engineering teams in the design layout and process development for the new facility. 
  • Provide operational guidance related to the practicality of the work being performed, and the processes/procedures being proposed. 
  • Directly interface with contractors, vendors, and distributors who are working on the facility.
  • Provide facility maintenance oversight to the planning team. 

Sustainment

  • Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations, which includes providing direction to the hourly staff.
  • Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.\Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping.
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
  • Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.
  • Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime.
  • Commit to plant safety procedures.
  • Develop strategic initiatives for the facility and partner with other departments to carryout such initiatives.
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  • At least 7 years’ experience as a Plant Manager.
  • Proven experience in overseeing various departments and managing plant operations. 
  • Prior experience in demonstrating business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources).
  • Prior experience in the design and implementation of new production lines. 
  • Strong understanding of industry standard equipment and technical expertise.
  • Knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, and stewardship processes.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel.
  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.
