Supervisor - Facilities & Maintenance

As a Supervisor - Facilities & Maintenance at AEO's Phoenix Distribution Center, you will be a key leader responsible for establishing and maintaining a best-in-class maintenance operation for our brand new 520,000 square feet facility. You will lead and coach a team of maintenance technicians to ensure all equipment, including conveyors, racking and material handling systems, operates at peak performance. This role is pivotal in establishing and maintaining a maintenance culture that is essential for successfully processing 25 million units weekly across two daylight shifts and two Evening Shifts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and execute preventative and predictive maintenance programs for all facility equipment including conveyor systems, yard tractors and material handling equipment to maximize operational uptime and minimize unplanned downtime
  • Proactively inspect the facility to identify and address potential problems, ensuring all systems are in a constant state of readiness
  • Partner with operations and planning teams to develop and execute weekly maintenance schedules that support fulfillment goals and prevent service interruptions
  • Build, coach and manage a high-performing maintenance team, fostering an environment of safety, accountability and continuous improvement
  • Develop and implement structured training programs for your team to build expertise in key areas such as PLC controls, forklift repair and electrical systems
  • Conduct accident investigations and recommend corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment
  • Maintain meticulous records of all maintenance activities, work orders and equipment inventory in the MVP Plant system, ensuring compliance with established SOPs
  • Manage and enforce company policies and safety standards, actively participating in safety program development and committees
  • Coordinate on-site contractor work, ensuring projects are completed without disrupting operations and align with security protocols
  • Provide input into the development of the maintenance budget and monitor spending to ensure cost-effective operations

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a high-volume warehouse or distribution center environment
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience, with a strong understanding of material handling equipment and operations
  • Proven ability to coach, train, and develop a team to achieve performance goals
  • Demonstrated experience with preventative maintenance programs and working knowledge of PLC controls
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence peers and senior leadership
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and a strong commitment to accurate record-keeping and reporting

  • Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.
