Engineering Manager

Position Title: Project Manager - Engineering

Work Location: Baku

Key accountabilities:

  • Manage and Co-ordinate the Engineering/Procurement Interface to assure timely delivery of Equipment, Materials and Vendor's Engineering Documentation
  • Liaise with and support Package Engineers, Buyer's, Expeditor's and Quality Team to ensure PSR/Delivery Schedule alignment and common objectives
  • Coordinate and manage vendor meetings, commitments and deliverables to ensure project schedule attainment
  • Manage the Project Change, ensure proposed changes are formally captured and recorded as PCN's. Manage the development of associated DCN's through functional stakeholder engagement
  • Manage the Project Risk Register, Coordinate the Risk Management Process ensuring risks are mitigated and closed out as per completion dates. Regular collaboration with Risk Owners to gauge progress and address issues
  • Manage the Project Issue Log and Ensure that the Issue Log is updated on a weekly basis ensuring all issues raised during formal meetings are consolidated, progressed and closed-out by the agreed dates
  • Manage the Project Lessons Learned Register, Incorporate and implement Key Lessons Learnt from the previous stages and continuously develop the LL register
  • Support Project Delivery manager on daily activities and issues, Coordinate and Manage the Project constraints to ensure
  • Monitor the technical compliance of the project to ensure that the relevant codes, standards and specifications are adhered to and implemented, QA processes are being followed and performance standards are met
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, including project and non-project related face to face meetings
  • Drive project management process through the use of integrated scheduling, earned value reporting and risk management
  • Experience in estimating and creating project execution plans for project work scopes with ability to revise the plan as necessary and assures adherence to the plan. Keeps the client and company advised of project status.
  • Assures safe project execution to the client's satisfaction, consistent with cost, schedule and contractual requirements while maintaining bottom line responsibility for financial success.
Requirements/ Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent with minimum 15 years of experience in oil and gas industry preferably with experience of working in the Caspian region / projects.
  • Strong engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to gain the confidence of senior management/executive leadership as well as multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural peers/subordinates.
  • Previous leadership experience. Proactive with strong written and excellent communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety with good awareness of environmental and sustainability issues Excellent problem-solving skills including the ability to analyze and resolve complex problems
  • Team player with strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing project-related priorities and deliver high quality, accurate work within required deadlines.
  • Train, develop & mentor the next generation of Project engineers in the region.
