Job Title: Receptionist

Reports To: Business Office Manager

Summary: The primary purpose of the receptionist is to watch the front door, answer phones, greet residents and their families, direct them to appropriate places in the building, give tours and give out appropriate marketing materials, when directed.

Essential Job Functions, Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Answer phone line promptly and appropriately

• Transfer calls as needed

• Check messages left on the front desk phone

• Check email

• Archive resident files

• Greet guests and visitors

• Conduct tours for prospective residents and their families

• Manage Sign in/out logs

• Forward phone to portable when on a tour or away from the front desk.

• Put sign up at front desk when away for short periods. “We are on a tour…”

• Post sign when leaving for the day “The front desk is closed…”

• Assist with moving furniture when needed for activities

• Walk around lobby, dining room and bathrooms several times/day to check for cleanliness.

• Put together new move-in packets when they are running low

• Update t.v. slide show for the week

• Refill Pens, Business Cards, Brochures – Keep front desk area clean

• Lock the side door at 5:00 PM if applicable to the building

• Create and deliver weekly menu from template Executive Chef prepares

• Create monthly newsletter on Constant Contact to send out each month

• Log-In to Constant Contact and Make sure all current families are on the list

• Post care staff run sheets prior to their shifts

• Deliver newspapers

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D) preferred.

Language Skills: Ability to read and follow instructions, warnings, and procedure manuals; ability to follow work directions and assignments; ability to record notes, as needed. Ability to understand how to mix cleaners for proper use.
