Job DetailsJob Location: NORTH PUTNAM FAMILY HEALTHCARE - BAINBRIDGE, IN 46105Job Shift: Day Job Summary: Greets patients, organizes patient files, and moves patients through a pre-determined schedule of appointments at a physician's office. Job Duties/Responsibilities:  • Welcomes patients and visitors to the medical office by greeting patients and visitors in person and on the telephone and answering inquiries or referring questions to other staff members • Efficiently conducts check-in, check-out, and rescheduling procedures • Verifies insurance coverage • Collect copays and balances at time of appointment • Answers, triages, and appropriately routes incoming calls • Explains office policies, insurance coverage, and services available to patients • Schedules appointments for the physicians and physician assistant to optimize patient satisfaction, provider time and most effective use of examining and treatment rooms. Prepares a daily schedule of examinations for each provider • Accurately enters all patient demographic, billing, and insurance information in the Electronic Medical Record (AllScripts) • Receives, reviews, and distributes documentation to appropriate staff members in a timely manner • Reviews patient schedule for following day and verifies all necessary paperwork is on file. Follows up with patients for any missing documentation • Follows established protocols for opening and closing office • Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Education Experience: HS Graduate or Equivalent Years of Related Experience: None License/Certificate Required: No Driver's License Required: Yes Travel Requirements: >25% Age Requirement: 18+ Job Requirements:  • Accurate data entry • Ability to multi-task • Excellent organizational and time management skills • Strong attention to detail • Ability to work well with a rural health/diverse population. • well-rounded personality • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment • Ability to work with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality • Abides by all hospital policies and procedures • Abides by HIPAA (Health Information Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines Preferred Skills:  • Knowledge of medical terminology • Familiarity with Allscripts, Epic, CPSI • Exceptional customer service skills • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and other insurances
