Extraction Technician

Position Description:  

The Extraction Technician is responsible for executing extraction and distillation processes according to Ilera Holistic Healthcare's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This role involves working with various extraction and refinement methods to produce high-quality cannabis extracts. The technician will also ensure safe equipment operation, safe chemical handling, maintain accurate logs, troubleshoot technical issues, and contribute to the continuous improvement of extraction processes.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Follow instructions and SOPs for extraction and distillation processes, ensuring quality and efficiency.

• Address any issues or complications that arise during the extraction and/or distillation process and take corrective actions.

• Maintain accurate logs and records of plant material, all extraction and refinement processes, and product production. Ensure proper tracking of product transport.

• Adhere to safety procedures for chemical handling, disposal, and general lab safety. Report hazardous conditions to the direct supervisor.

• Collaborate with leadership in ongoing improvement of SOPs, work instructions, and extraction and distillation processes.

• Ensure smooth task handoff and clear communication across shifts to maintain operational continuity.

• Support a clean and safe work environment by maintaining cleanliness and following safety protocols.

Required Qualifications:

• Familiarity with extraction and refinement methods such as hydrocarbon, distillation, ethanol, solventless, or CO2.

• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to follow complex procedures accurately.

• Strong math skills for measurement and calculations.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant computer programs for record-keeping and reporting.

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.

• Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

• Ability to sit, stand, kneel, bend, squat, and walk for extended periods.

• Capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling a minimum of 75 lbs.

• Must be at least 21 years of age.

• Must be compliant with all company regulations and safety protocols.
