Reconstruction Claims Adjuster 

(Internal Restoration Claims & Approval Role – No Adjuster License Required)

We’re hiring an experienced Reconstruction Claims Adjuster to manage insurance claims from start to finish, coordinate accurate scopes of work, negotiate approvals, and support our Project Supervisors in delivering exceptional client outcomes while protecting company gross profit. 

This is a hands-on, in person role for someone who knows property claims, understands construction, and thrives on accountability, negotiation, and results.

Job Summary 

As a Reconstruction Claims Adjuster (in-person position) at Alert Disaster Restoration, you will manage and drive the reconstruction insurance claim process from start to finish. You will coordinate accurate scopes of work, prepare and review estimates, negotiate with carrier and independent adjusters, and support Project Supervisors in delivering successful reconstruction projects that meet company standards. 

Your primary focus is on achieving approvals, maintaining estimate accuracy, protecting margins, and keeping projects moving. 

 

Role Clarification (Important) 

This position is an internal, in office reconstruction claims role within a restoration company. While the title includes “Claims Adjuster,” this role does not require or function as a licensed insurance adjuster and does not adjust claims on behalf of an insurance carrier. 

Instead, this role focuses on: 

  • Coordinating scopes of work
  • Preparing and reviewing estimates
  • Negotiating with carrier and independent adjusters
  • Driving claim approvals to support reconstruction projects 

No insurance adjuster license is required for this position. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Claim Processing & Documentation 

  • Receive and review documentation from internal departments for completed or required work
  • Ensure claim files are complete, accurate, and submission ready
  • Maintain detailed claim records in the claims management system 

Damage Evaluation & Scope Coordination 

  • Assess property damages using industry standards and company guidelines
  • Write and/or coordinate accurate scopes of work aligned with field conditions
  • Ensure estimates support both carrier requirements and company gross profit standards 

Negotiation & Approval 

  • Negotiate claim approvals, supplements, and settlements with carrier and independent adjusters
  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and persistently to resolve claims efficiently
  • Drive timely decisions and approvals within established authority 

Project & Team Support 

  • Collaborate with Project Supervisors to keep reconstruction projects on schedule
  • Support reconstruction sales and execution through strong claim positioning
  • Escalate complex or high value claims when appropriate 

Customer & Stakeholder Communication 

  • Provide responsive, professional, and empathetic service to:  
    • Policyholders
    • Adjusters
    • Internal stakeholders
  • Provide updates, guidance, and clarity throughout the claims process  

Compensation & Bonus Structure 

  • Base Salary: $70,000–$105,000 (based on experience)
  • Bonus: Performance based, tied to:  
    • Approval cycle time
    • Accuracy of scopes and estimates
    • Reduction of stalled or disputed claims
    • Overall reconstruction claim throughput 

Qualifications 

  • 4+ years of property insurance claims adjusting experience, including large loss claims
  • Strong construction knowledge (required)
  • Highly skilled in Xactimate
  • Proven experience negotiating with carrier and independent adjusters
  • Proficiency with claims management systems and multitasking across platforms
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Customer focused mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Relevant certifications a plus:  
    • Xactimate Certified
    • AIC, CPCU
    • IICRC or related industry credentials 

No insurance adjuster license required; this role does not act on behalf of an insurance carrier
