Description
 Kern Regional Center is one of 21 private, non-profit regional centers contracted by the State of California through the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) to coordinate community-based services and support for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Kern Regional Center services over 10,000 individuals in Kern, Inyo and Mono Counties. Our counties cover approximately 22,000 square miles with a population of over 945,000 people.Â
Safety Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant work environment by developing, implementing and monitoring safety programs and procedures. Works closely with other departments to maintain compliance with safety regulations, promote hazard prevention, and foster a proactive safety culture. Â Â
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, public administration, public safety or in a related field from an accredited collegeÂ
- Three years’ experience in safety coordination role
- Any combination of education and experience may be considered.Â
- Possession of a valid California Driver’s License and State automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record substantiated by a DMV printout.
- Full use of automobile or ability to provide for independent transportation
- Must be able to drive to various sites as assigned. Must be willing to stay overnightÂ

Hourly range for this position $25.00 to $35.18
Starting hourly rate $25.00 to $26.25
