Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations for Bal Harbour Shops, ensuring the property consistently meets the highest standards of appearance, safety, and functionality. This role provides leadership to the maintenance team, coordinates vendors and contractors, and works closely with property management to support luxury retailers and deliver an exceptional guest experience.Â
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise, maintenance staff, including technicians, painters, and custodial personnelÂ
- Ensure buildings, common areas, storefront exteriors, hardscape, lighting, and infrastructure meet luxury standardsÂ
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, irrigation, and structural systemsÂ
- Oversee daily work orders, inspections, and emergency response effortsÂ
- Coordinate and manage third-party vendors, contractors, and service providersÂ
- Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety issues, and aesthetic improvementsÂ
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, local codes, and property safety policiesÂ
- Support tenant build-outs, move-ins, and ongoing maintenance coordinationÂ
- Respond to after-hours emergenciesÂ
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reportsÂ
- Collaborate with directors, security, landscaping, and janitorial teamsÂ
- Uphold the prestige, cleanliness, and visual excellence of the shopping centerÂ
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or associate degree preferredÂ
- Minimum of 5–7 years of commercial property maintenance experience, including 2–3 years in a supervisory roleÂ
- Experience in luxury retail, hospitality, mixed-use, or Class-A commercial properties preferredÂ
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, irrigation, and lighting systemsÂ
- Proven leadership and team management skillsÂ
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesÂ
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsÂ
- Proficiency with maintenance management systems (CMMS) and basic computer applicationsÂ

Physical & Work Requirements
- Â Ability to walk the property for extended periodsÂ
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform hands-on tasks as neededÂ
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditionsÂ
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call shiftsÂ

Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as CFM, CPM, HVAC, or electrical licensesÂ
- Bilingual abilities a plusÂ
- Valid driver’s licenseÂ
Physical Requirements
Position requires the incumbent to stand, walk, bend, twist, & stretch. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Along with having the ability to push and pull up to approximately 40-50 lbs of drag weight without assistance. The employee will be exposed to all weather conditions.
