About This Role
We're hiring a Wire Harness Technician to prototype, build, test, and document wiring harnesses for FuelTech's product line. This is a hands-on role with real engineering impact — you won't just be assembling harnesses, you'll be designing the electrical architecture, selecting components, and validating your builds with bench testing. If you enjoy building things that work and solving problems with a multimeter in hand, this is for you.
What You'll Do
- Build Plug & Play, universal, and adapter wiring harnesses for cars, motorcycles, jet skis, trucks, and custom projects.
- Design harness electrical architecture: power/ground strategy, fuse/relay placement, routing, and connector selection.
- Read and interpret pinouts, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals for ECU, CAN, sensor, and actuator integration.
- Perform bench testing and validation: continuity, short-to-ground, insulation resistance, voltage drop, and functional testing with live ECUs.
- Diagnose electrical and intermittent faults; propose design and process improvements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation: wiring diagrams, BOMs, assembly instructions, and revision history.
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Support, and Sales teams.
- Manage component inventory and coordinate with vendors/suppliers.
What You Need (Must-Have)
- Hands-on experience building automotive, powersports, or motorsport wiring harnesses (OEM, aftermarket, or race).
- Professional crimping skills (various terminals), cable prep, splicing, and mechanical protection.
- Ability to read electrical diagrams and pinouts.
- Familiarity with CAN bus (topology, termination, best practices).
Bonus Points (Nice-to-Have)
- Experience with Deutsch (DT/DTM), Weather Pack, TE/AMP (AMPSEAL), EV1/EV6 connectors.
- Sensor integration experience (0–5V, NTC, VR/Hall) and actuators (injectors, coils, solenoids).
- Familiarity with milspec/race materials (ETFE/Tefzel, DR-25, boots, backshells).
- Technical documentation and revision control experience.
- Experience with FuelTech products is a plus!
Why FuelTech?
- Work on products used in world-class motorsport and powersports competitions.
- Small, tight-knit team where your work has direct, visible impact.
- Competitive salaryÂ
- Opportunity to grow with a company at the forefront of engine management technology.
Monday - Friday / 8:30am - 5:30pm (1 hour lunch)
