CCTV Maintenance Inspector

Job Summary

PEMCCO is hiring a detail-oriented CCTV Maintenance Inspector to support the Maryland Transit Administration Police Technical Services Division. This field-based role focuses on CCTV inspection, preventive maintenance verification, quality assurance, contractor oversight, documentation, and security system reliability. The ideal candidate has experience with CCTV cameras, PTZ cameras, video management systems, low-voltage systems, electronic security equipment, field inspections, and maintenance reporting.

As the CCTV Maintenance Inspector, you will verify that contractor-performed preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance activities are completed in accordance with standard operating procedures, manufacturer recommendations, client requirements, and contract expectations. This is not an engineering design or hands-on maintenance technician role; it is a field verification, inspection, documentation, and quality assurance position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Observe and verify preventive maintenance activities on CCTV systems, cameras, housings, mounts, cabinets, and related security infrastructure.
  • Confirm completion of camera cleaning, dome cleaning, lens cleaning, housing inspections, mount inspections, environmental inspections, and equipment condition assessments.
  • Inspect fixed cameras, PTZ cameras, camera views, image quality, focus, positioning, obstructions, dirt, debris, condensation, and other performance-impacting conditions.
  • Use approved inspection checklists and SOPs to validate maintenance compliance and identify deviations from required procedures.
  • Document incomplete maintenance, equipment damage, improper workmanship, repeat failures, safety concerns, and recurring maintenance issues.
  • Capture digital photographs, maintain field notes, and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inspection reports.
  • Coordinate with MTA Police Technical Services personnel, contractors, maintenance vendors, and project stakeholders to support corrective action tracking.
  • Assist with asset inventory verification, field surveys, documentation reviews, maintenance planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in CCTV systems, electronic security systems, low-voltage systems, telecommunications infrastructure, field inspections, quality assurance inspections, facilities maintenance inspections, or maintenance oversight.
  • Basic knowledge of CCTV cameras, camera housings, security infrastructure, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Ability to interpret inspection procedures, maintenance requirements, and SOPs.
  • Strong observational skills, attention to detail, objectivity, and sound judgment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ability to organize digital photographs and written reports.
  • Ability to travel throughout the MTA service area.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Information Technology, Criminal Justice, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting transit agencies, public safety organizations, transportation facilities, or security system maintenance programs.
  • Experience inspecting contractor-performed work or supporting preventive maintenance programs.
  • Familiarity with CCTV video management systems, physical security systems, transit operations, asset management systems, and maintenance management processes.
  • Security industry certifications, CCTV certifications, manufacturer training certifications, OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or a valid driver’s license preferred.


Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, certifications, demonstrated capability, and relevant field experience. The anticipated wage range is $28.00–$48.00 per hour.
