Pay Rate: $18.50 - $20.00 / hourĀ Ā
Available schedule: Sat and Sun 8am - 11pm
General Description/Summary: Under the direct supervision of the house managers (HM), program coordinator (PC), and under the delegation of the registered nurse (RN) the certified nursing assistant (CNA) is responsible for supporting the needs of the individuals in daily tasks, working closely with nurses and healthcare professionals. The CNA is responsible for ensuring that each individual receives the comprehensive and personalized care they need. Your role will involve monitoring vital signs, engaging in meaningful interactions with patients, and advocating for their well-being.
Certified Nursing Assistant Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Ā
- Groom, and bathe patients with low mobility
- Assists individuals with eating and taking medications as needed
- Assists individuals with mobility needs, transferring them from wheelchair to bed
- Adjust and position individuals in bed to prevent bedsores or any discomfort
- Monitor individualsā stability by checking vital signs and weight, and reporting any changes to the nurse and medical staff
- Obtain information about conditions and plans of treatment from healthcare providers
- Check the physical conditions of the individuals each day and report any changes to the nurse
- Change sheets on beds and restock supplies in rooms as needed.
- Clean intermittent catheterization (CIC), under the direct supervision of an RN as per RNCMDN chapter 9. Staff to undergo training with the RN delegating nurse on this specialized skill before performing the task, after demonstrating understanding of the techniques and precautions involved.
- Build long-lasting professional relationships with individuals, family members, and team membersĀ
- Performs DSP and other related duties as assigned.
Education/Qualifications (Skills and Abilities):Ā
- State Certified Nursing Assistant Certification.
- Current CPR (American Heart Association).
- Nursing degree from a CNA program.
- Ability to think and work independently and with direction and communicate with staff members in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Medication Technician, CPR & First Aid, Mandt and OSHA Certifications during 90-day probationary period. Maintains updated certifications throughout employment.Ā
- DDA trainings per regulations and LIFE Incorporated policies.
- iCare manager training and any other required training as needed per employment.
- Maintain a driving record of 2 points or less. Failure to adhere could result in immediate termination.
