Job Purpose |
The Compliance Manager coordinates and reports on activities related to public funding sources and HFHI affiliate reporting, ensures and maintains compliance for all public grants that supports our mission and oversees Anti-Money Laundering compliance, training and audits.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities, including but not limited to |
Grant Compliance, Administration and Organizational Compliance
- Communicate grant award conditions for compliance and reporting to staff.
- Manage internal reporting systems to audit and track grants for compliance and all grant requirements including completion dates.
- Provide periodic reports to public agency, or HFHI, that has awarded funds per agreement schedule.
- Work with the finance / accounting team to assemble and submit draw requests to public agency or HFHI.
- Maintain grant files and supporting documentation in accordance with record retention requirements.
- Constantly monitor and report periodically on status of outstanding grants and grant applications to senior management.
- Provide grant summary and documents necessary for any Board resolutions that may be necessary.
- Maintain relationships with public agencies and with Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) for public funds to maximize success with grant opportunities.
- Liaison for public agencies or HFHI related to grant award agreements and execution.
- Assist staff with coordination and negotiation with public agency or HFHI for any agreement, grant modifications or issues.
- Administer and facilitate Community Investment Tax Credits (CTIC) grant reporting requirements.
- Assist the Compliance Officer (CFO) with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) reporting, training, audits and compliance responsibilities.
- Assist with impact data gathering among departments, HFHI, and community resources.
- Responsible for activities related to submittal of Annual Quality Assurance Report and Affiliate Covenant to HFHI.
- Collect data and provide Quarterly Statistical and House Completion reports to HFHI.
Safety
- Understand and operate by safe work practices at all our locations and events to ensure we meet, if not exceed, OSHA and Habitat safety policies and procedures
- Immediately notify management of any safety related incident and/or respond to a report involving Habitat or any other related team members (workers, volunteers, and subcontractors).
- Support any safety incident investigations.

Qualifications |
All qualifications must comply with provincial human rights legislation
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration or a related field
- Minimum five years of experience in grant compliance
- Prior experience with Habitat or another non-profit
- Experience working with public agencies
- Experience working with policies, procedures, and contract agreements.
- Basic knowledge of real estate, construction, and finance.
- Possesses attention to detail, work accuracy and organization
- Able to work independently and with deadlines; demonstrates flexibility with changing assignment priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft office
