About VesselÂ
Vessel is a private event venue located on the 3rd floor of ROOST Baltimore. Set along the Patapsco River, Vessell offers a distinctive backdrop for gatherings, where maritime heritage meets exceptional small bites and handcrafted cocktails. From thoughtful breakfast luncheons to festive holiday parties to intimate cocktails soirees, our picturesque space sets the scene for unforgettable occasions. We are building a reliable team of experienced Event Staff to support private events, banquets, and special functions at Vessel. This role is ideal for seasoned hospitality professionals who are confident in both banquet‑style service and bartending.Â
What You’ll DoÂ
- Provide polished banquet‑style service, including tray passing, table service, and event flow supportÂ
- Bartend confidently and responsibly, following all service standards and alcohol safety guidelinesÂ
- Greet guests warmly and maintain an upbeat, positive presence throughout serviceÂ
- Set up event spaces and bar stations, including prepping product and ensuring readiness for expected coversÂ
- Offer full service to guests at the bar when appropriate, incorporating established Vessel service standardsÂ
- Communicate clearly with barbacks and support staff regarding expectations and shift needsÂ
- Maintain rotation of clean, polished glassware and ensure all service items are stockedÂ
- Handle cash and close guest tabs accuratelyÂ
- Keep all service areas clean, organized, and guest‑ready at all timesÂ
- Follow proper product rotation, quality‑checking day‑old prep before useÂ
- Complete cleaning duties during downtime and ensure restocking before clocking outÂ
- Perform all closing duties thoroughly at the end of each shiftÂ
- Support the team with additional tasks to ensure seamless event executionÂ
What We’re Looking ForÂ
- Banquet service experience requiredÂ
- Bartending experience required (1-3 years in an upscale setting preferred)Â
- Strong knowledge of classic and current food & beverage trendsÂ
- Excellent communication skills and a polished, professional demeanorÂ
- Ability to multitask in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environmentÂ
- Team‑oriented mindset with a strong work ethicÂ
- Dependability and comfort working part time or flexible/on‑call shiftsÂ
- Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiencesÂ
Working ConditionsÂ
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move for 8–10 hours per shiftÂ
- Agility to navigate fast‑paced service areas efficientlyÂ
- Ability to lift, carry, or move items up to 50Â lbsÂ
- Work environment may require frequent movement between indoor and event spacesÂ
