About the role

The Professional Barista position is responsible for ensuring guests’ enjoyment in ASH Bar and providing service at the ASH Bar counter. You should be organized, able to think and act quickly and effectively while retaining self-composure. Be guest sensitive and possess a sense of timing. Have the ability to guide guests through the menu, being knowledgeable of all things, including questions regarding the food, coffee, and other selections. Take pride in personal appearance and show dedication to your role. Can work well under stress or in high-pressure situations. Is an effective listener who is able to effectively resolve conflicts in a fair and direct manner - nothing slips through the cracks. Display integrity and honesty in all aspects of your employment.

This person is an extrovert by nature, a true people-person who gains energy from engaging guests in genuine and attentive interactions. They will create memorable and curated food and beverage experiences that ultimately inspire our guests to tell the story of ASH Bar, Blooms, and Hotel Ulysses to all their closest friends and will be passionate about providing exceptional service according to ASH brand standards.

What you'll do

Reports and takes direction from the Department Manager
Welcomes each guest personally using enthusiastic words, tone, and body language at all times
Makes guests feel appreciated through your actions
Coffee artist - Latte designs are imperative
Works as a team with all personnel in order to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service
Works with others to keep all areas always cleaned and stocked to the Company’s standards
Prepares coffee, espresso, tea, and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for patrons of bar and to-go customers following standard recipes
Inputs orders into computer immediately, collects money from guests and makes change
Handles cash in accordance with the company cash handling policy
Arranges bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Extraordinary attention to detail
Proper milk steaming
Basic mathematical skills and an ability to handle money and give correct change
Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and health work environment

COMPENSATION DETAILS

The pay range for this role is: 16.50 - 16.50 USD per week (Hotel Ulysses)
401K with 4% Match, dollar for dollar
Annually: up to 5 vacation days, 5 paid sick days, 11 paid holidays
