The GARC Shipment Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, documenting, and executing domestic and international shipments of Global Autonomous Reconnaissance Craft (GARC) systems, subsystems, and associated support equipment. This role serves as the single point of contact for all GARC transportation movements, ensuring compliance with DoD, ITAR/EAR, hazardous material, and commercial shipping regulations. The position directly supports fleet readiness by ensuring GARCs and mission equipment arrive on time, fully documented, and mission-ready. This role sits at the intersection of IPS, Mission Solutions, Production, and Program Management to ensure seamless shipment execution across CONUS and OCONUS locations.
Key Responsibilities:
-Serve as primary POC for all GARC system and support equipment shipments (CONUS and OCONUS).
-Coordinate shipment planning with Program Managers, Fleet Managers, and Production.
-Prepare and manage required documentation (DD1149, commercial invoices, packing lists, AES filings, export documentation, etc.).
-Ensure compliance with ITAR/EAR, HAZMAT, and DoD transportation requirements.
-Coordinate freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers.
-Track shipments in transit and provide real-time status updates to stakeholders.
-Manage packaging, crating, preservation, and marking requirements IAW MIL-STD and PHS&T best practices.
-Support contingency / urgent shipment execution.
-Maintain shipment records in Pirate IPS / internal tracking tools.
-Identify cost savings and schedule efficiencies in transportation planning.
U.S. Citizen.
-Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance (preferred active Secret).
-5+ years of logistics, transportation, or shipping coordination experience.
-Experience supporting DoD contracts or defense knowledge of ITAR/EAR export compliance requirements.
-Experience preparing government shipping documentation (DD1149, commercial export docs, etc.).
-Familiarity with HAZMAT shipping regulations (49 CFR, IATA, IMDG).
-Strong organizational and documentation control skills.
-Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously under tight timelines.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP/Jira-based tracking systems preferred.
-Excellent communication skills across technical and program stakeholders.
Experience supporting Navy or maritime programs.
-Familiarity with uncrewed systems or maritime equipment logistics.
-Experience shipping oversized, high-value, or mission-critical equipment.
-Certified Export Specialist or HAZMAT certification.
-Experience coordinating OCONUS shipments to Bahrain, Europe, or Indo-Pacific locations.
-Experience working with government depots or fleet concentration areas.
