We are seeking a Homewood Museum Coordinator to provide overall assistance and security to the museum along with primary responsibility for visitor services. Responsibilities include: opening and closing the museum; taking payments via our POS system; welcoming guests; and performing basic office and maintenance duties as needed.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as primary on-site staff person during weekend hours of operation
- Open and close site on weekend days.
- Oversee and support any special weekend site activities
- Take payment for admissions as shop sales using POS system
- Welcome guests and provide basic information about the history of the site and how to navigate it.
- Notify supervisor of any problems with house or collections (damage, theft, etc.).
- Perform general office duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or graduation equivalent.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Public speaking, engaging communication, learning a significant amount of history
