Brown Advisory is currently seeking a HR Analyst to join our HR team in Baltimore, MD. This position plays a key role in supporting HR operations with a strong emphasis on HRIS administration, reporting & analytics, and compensation-related processes. The individual will report to our Workday HRIS Manager and partner closely with the HR Operations team in Baltimore to ensure data integrity, operational efficiency, and high-quality service delivery across HR functions.
Duties of the position include but are not limited to:
Support the administration and ongoing maintenance of the Human Resources Information System (Workday), ensuring data accuracy and system optimization.
Process and audit employee lifecycle transactions in HRIS, including new hires, transfers, promotions, and separations, ensuring timely and accurate data entry.
Maintain data integrity through regular audits, validation processes, and continuous system monitoring.
Develop, maintain, and analyze standard and ad hoc HR reports and dashboards, including workforce metrics and compensation data.
Create and distribute standard and custom reports in Workday and calculate metrics to meet the requirements of the firm.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the firm to support compensation-related processes, including data preparation, analysis, and reporting for salary reviews, benchmarking, and planning cycles.
Compile and analyze statistical and historical HR data to identify trends, support decision-making, and improve processes.
Respond to employee inquiries related to HR policies, procedures, compensation, and systems in a timely and professional manner.
Support internal audits, reporting requests, and special projects as needed.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and increased efficiency across HR operations
Assist with the project management of specially assigned HR-related projects, programs, and initiatives.
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
1+ years of experience in analytical, HR operations, HRIS, Compensation, or related role.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to manipulate, analyze, and interpret large datasets.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and recommend practical solutions.
Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new technologies, including an interest in exploring AI tools to enhance productivity and support day-to-day work
Strong organizational and project management skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
Illustrates tact, discretion, and good judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information
Ability to work in the Baltimore office

Preferred Attributes:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, with a focus on systems, reporting, or data management preferred.
Experience working with HRIS systems preferred; Workday experience preferred.
Familiarity with HR compliance requirements and audit processes preferred.
Exposure to compensation processes, benchmarking, or HR analytics preferred.
Experience in Human Resources within the financial services industry preferred.
Salary: $70-75k Commensurate with experience and location. Does not include bonus or long-term incentive eligibility (if applicable).
